Layiwasabi was born on July 11th, and he has spent his entire life in the ancient Yoruba city of Osogbo, along with his younger brother and loving and supportive mother. He attributes his sense of humor to his mother, whom he acknowledges as the source of his comedy gene.

While Layi was growing up, his mother was always his most trusted confidante. Within her group of close friends, she stood out as the funniest person.

His mother and other members of his extended family, including his uncles, aunts, and grandparents, were responsible for his upbringing after the death of his father, which occurred when he was just a child.

Layiwasabi began his career in comedy as a teenager.

The first time Layi attempted to make people laugh by skulking around a microphone was in JSS2, during his secondary school’s talent show.

Layi Wasabi learned the fundamentals of comedy in the most logical and natural way: by observing the frog for an extended period of time. His mother’s membership in the Redeemed Christian Church of God added Christian heritage to his skits as he grew up.
