Who is John Morgan?

John Bryan Morgan (born March 31, 1956) is a lawyer in the United States. He is best known as the founder of Morgan & Morgan, a personal injury legal company.

Aside from this law company, he is the founder of numerous other businesses, including WonderWorks Attraction, PMP Marketing Group, ClassAction.com, Abogados.com, and others.

Biography

Morgan was born on March 31, 1956, as the eldest of five children to Ramon Morgan and Patricia Morgan in Lexington, Kentucky. Morgan’s family relocated to Winter Park, Florida, when he was fourteen years old. 

Morgan began working at a young age in a number of jobs since his family was struggling financially. John enrolled at the University of Florida in 1974 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in arts in 1978. 

John Morgan took an 18-month break from selling advertisements to fund his studies at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 1982. He was voted president of the Florida Blue Key Society while in university.

While studying law, Morgan met his wife, Ultima Degnan. They married in May of 1982.  Morgan and Ultima Ann Degnan are the parents of four children.

Career

John Morgan practices law in the areas of personal injury, as well as injury and class action. Morgan and Morgan is a law practice in Pennsylvania that was founded in 1988 by the man and his wife. The main office of this corporation may be found in Orlando, which is located in Florida.

It is not a mystery that he supports making the use of medical marijuana legal in Florida. He led the charge in 2014 to get Amendment 2 passed, which would have legalized the use of marijuana for medical purposes.

Sadly, the bill did not get in the Senate. Despite this, the bill was finally enacted into law in 2016, and his efforts were praised. The vote to approve the amendment was 71.3% to 28.7%, therefore it was successful. He had contributed somewhere around  $6 million to the campaign.

Additionally, in 2018, he ran for the office of Governor of Florida. In order to run as an independent candidate, he resigned from the Democratic Party.
