Busi Lurayi is a South African actor who is best known for playing Phumzile on the SABC1 sitcom City Ses’la (from 2005 to 2006 and again in 2010) and its spin-off series Ses’Top La.
For her part as Phumzile, she won the first-ever South African Film and Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Comedy.
After the first season, Lurayi left the show, and Thuli Thabethe took her place. She then joined the cast of the ITV drama series Wild At Heart, which stars Amanda Holden from Kiss Me Kate and is about a British family that moves to a game reserve in South Africa.
In the second season of the show, Lurayi plays Thandi, a teacher who teaches the kids at home. She is listed as a part of the supporting cast.
In 2010, for the fourth and last season of City Ses’la, she played Phumzile again. Then, in 2012, a new show called Ses’Top La was made about her character.

According to sources, in May 2006, she was a guest star on the hospital drama series ER. In the episode “There Are No Angels Here” (Season 12, Episode 20), she played Sittina.
