Lata Tondon (born 15 April 1980) is a Madhya Pradesh-based Indian chef who holds the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking. She set the record in September 2019 after finishing her 87-hour, 45-minute cooking marathon.

Biography

On April 15, 1980, Lata Tondon was born in the city of Rewa, which is located in the northeastern region of the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. She got her start in the kitchen at an early age and looked to her grandfather for guidance and encouragement. 

She attributes learning how to cook to both her own mother and her mother-in-law, and she adds that both of them were significant contributors to her growth and development, as reported by the Hindustan Times. 

Lata received her training at the Chef Academy of London, which is located in the United Kingdom. She has also collaborated with renowned chefs such as Cloud Bosi of France and Jun Tanaka of American and British television.
