As an only child, Jennie’s early education began at Cheongdam Elementary School in Seoul before she relocated to New Zealand. At the age of eight, Jennie embarked on a family trip to Australia and New Zealand.
Her mother inquired about her desire to remain in New Zealand, to which Jennie enthusiastically agreed. A year later, Jennie enrolled at Waikowhai Intermediate School in Auckland, residing with a homestay family.
Jennie shared her experiences learning a new language in the MBC documentary “English, Must Change to Survive” (2006). During her adolescent years, Jennie harbored aspirations of becoming a ballet dancer. Upon completing intermediate school, Jennie pursued her education at ACG Parnell College.
