Nicholas Alexander Castellanos, born in Davie, Florida, was raised by his parents, Michelle and Jorge. While his father’s Cuban heritage resonated in him, his mother’s family hailed from Michigan.

Castellanos first displayed his baseball prowess at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, where he tasted victory by winning the state championship in his sophomore year. He then moved to Archbishop McCarthy High School in Fort Lauderdale, where his talent shone even brighter. He led his team to the Class 4A state championship, earning the prestigious Gatorade Player of the Year award for the state of Florida.
