Biography

Kit Chan was born on 15 September 1972 in Singapore, she’s the third daughter in a family of four sisters. She attended Fairfield Methodist School, Raffles Girls’ School, and Raffles Junior College. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts, where she studied music and theater.

After graduating from Lasalle, Chan began her career as a singer. She released her debut album, Heartache, in 1994. The album was a commercial success, and Chan quickly became one of the most popular singers in Singapore.

In 2004, Chan took a hiatus from her music career to pursue her studies further. She returned to Lasalle as a mature student and wrote a thesis on the psychology of performance. She graduated with first-class honors in 2010.

Kit Chan is a Singaporean singer, actress, and television personality who has worked in a variety of fields, including singing, theatre, television drama, poetry, songwriting, entrepreneurship, and creative direction. She has released albums in both Mandarin and English, and has starred in several television dramas and films.

Chan made her debut in 1993 and released her first album, Heartache, in 1994. She subsequently released more albums regionally, including Liking You, Dazzling, and Worried. She has also collaborated with symphonies and orchestras in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.

In 1998, Chan performed a song called Home at the Singapore National Day Parade. The song became very popular and has been performed at various editions of the National Day Parades since then.

Chan took a hiatus from her performing career in 2004 to further her studies. She returned to the music industry in 2007 and released her first studio album in three years, Re-interpreting Kit Chan, in 2011.
