In an interview with the Yorkshire Post about his early life, Henry said:  “I started life as a session drummer, then I became a news cameraman, then I went on the road for years with rock ‘n’ roll bands, then I directed a movie about heroin addiction based on my life, because I was a heroin addict for five years.

“After that I started driving around the world in cars for TV shows and riding bikes, and now I have a motorcycle brand.”

Henry Cole’s Career 

Cole started his career in the entertainment industry as a cameraman for the BBC. He later moved on to making documentaries, directing TV commercials, and eventually producing and directing films. In 1995, he founded his own production company, HCA Entertainment, which has produced many of his TV shows.

Cole’s breakthrough show was “World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides,” which showcased his passion for motorcycles and travel. He has since appeared in several other TV shows, including “The Motorbike Show,” “Shed and Buried,” and “Find It, Fix It, Flog It.”

In addition to his work in TV, Cole is also a writer and has published two books: “A Biker’s Life” (2018) and “The Life-Changing Magic of Sheds” (2020).

Cole has achieved several notable milestones in his career, including setting a world land speed record for a pre-1955 750cc motorcycle in 2013. He rode a Brough Superior at 99.78mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

In 2023, Cole set a new Guinness World Record for the “fastest tandem motorcycle” with his friend Allen Millyard. They reached a speed of 183.5 miles per hour (295.3 km/h) at Elvington airfield in North Yorkshire.
