Career

Boybits was a successful player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and was regarded as one of the best of his generation.
Swift selected him third overall in the 1994 Philippine Basketball Association draft. He made an immediate impact, winning Rookie of the Year and outperforming the top two picks, Noli Locsin and Rey Evangelista.
He demonstrated his abilities on the court, earning Mythical Second Team honors in 1994 and 1995.
Victoria won five more championships as a backup to Olsen Racela with San Miguel before retiring from professional basketball in 2003.

Following his successful career as a professional basketball player, he decided to stay involved in the sport by coaching.
He did, however, discover a new passion in broadcasting. With his extensive knowledge of the game, he became a panelist for PBA radio and television coverage.

Cause of Death

Boybits began coaching and later worked as a radio and television analyst for PBA games. He also became the head of sales at Victoria Sports, an indoor sports club in Quezon City.
In 2018, Victoria was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disorder. His condition improved after being hospitalized for several weeks.
On February 14, 2023, he had a heart attack and was diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction.

Boybits Victoria died on March 1, 2023, at the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pasay, Philippines, of another heart attack. He was 50 years old.
